Mountain Biking in Nepal

Nepal Mountain BikingNepal offers a great diversity of terrain with a varied climate from the pleasant scenic rides of the tropical plains of Terai to the subtropical valleys of the middle mountains, to the more challenging Trans Himalayan zones that lie in the rain shadow of the Himalayas. About 48% of Nepal's population lives in the middle mountains, which includes the broad shallow basin of the Kathmandu Valley.

The inhabitant's form a diversity of ethnic groups, a blend of the Indo-Aryan and the Tibeto-Burman races. The only flatlands in Nepal run from the east to west and lie in a narrow strip of the southern Terai.

Nepal is the world's number one adventure playground for mountain bikers. From the flatlands of the Terai to the terraced hillside farms, the vertical landscape soars towards the snow clad peaks of the Himalayas, inviting you to share the adventure of this awesome landscape. The tropical lush vegetation is a rich contrast against the stark, arctic regions where winds have swept, sculpting amazing forms on arid valleys of the Tibetan plateau. Discover yourself in one of the world's greatest wonders by joining us on an exhilarating and memorable biking adventure in the Himalayas.

Mountain biking is a tremendous way to see the exotic sights of our kingdom such as the ancient routes of Trans-Himalayan Traders and the rural village life of Nepal. Here you will enjoy the timeless culture and rich flora and fauna of our heritage as you explore such wonders as the Kathmandu Valley, the monuments or the temple complexes. Alternatively peddle at your own pace along some of the hidden trails to the rarely visited rural villages where you will see the warm smiles of locals living the preserved, traditional and simple life (on the verge of poverty, long forgotten in the post industrial cultures of the world), that is the style of Nepal.
