Day 15: Hardest but Holiest day of your pilgrimage Yatra with Dolma-La (pass) of 18600ft between two valleys
Day 16: End of Kailash Parikrama and drive to Manasarovara:
Day 17: Drive to Paryang (277km) 7-8 hr.
Day 18: Drive Paryang to Saga (230km) 7-8 hrs
Day 19: Drive to Kerung: 6-7 hr.
Day 20: Drive back to Kathmandu (150 km) 6-7 hr.
Day 21: Transfer to airport for your onward flight
Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu (1300 m.)
Arrival in Kathmandu & transfer to Hotel. Our tour Manager will Pick you up from the airport & Drive to hotel. After Refreshment you will get the briefing from tour Manager.
Day 02: Kathmandu
After Breakfast, trip Pashupatinath temple. The Holy temple of Lord Shiva. After lunch, final preparation for yatra i.e, checking and demonstration of equipments which will be used during yatra. If anybody needs to buy or get things on hire, our staff will give you company.
Day 03: Flight Kathmandu - Lhasa
After Breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa. This one hour trans Himalayan Flight will give you an opportunity to have an aerial view of the Mt. Everest and other Himalayan Peaks (weather permitting). Arrival at Gonggar airport around 15.30 hrs. local time. After clearing immigration and customs it will be a two hour drive to cover the 93 km. to Lhasa which is situated at a altitude of 3650 meters (13,000ft). Upon arrival we check in at the hotel, right in the heart of the old city.
Day 04: Lhasa
After Breakfast Take the challenge of climbing up to Potala Palace (3,650m above sea level) and get a great view of Lhasa’s urban areas. Great photographic opportunities along the way up as you will have a great view of the traditional Tibetan architecture. Hear the story of the Dalai Lamas and see chapels that the Dalai Lamas studied, rested and worked in. Pass former Dalai Lamas’ graves which are decorated with beautiful treasures.
Continue your tour to Jokhang Temple, which is within walking distance from Potala Palace. It is considered the spiritual center of Tibet. You will see many pilgrims worship within or nearby the temple. Enter the first floor of the temple and absorb the religious atmosphere, you will see pilgrims are donating butter oil to keep the lights burning for the Buddha. While learning about more Buddhas and Lamas than you can possibly remember you will gain a feeling for the vast history of Tibetan Buddhism. You might also hear red-robed Lamas praying. Walk up to the roof of the temple, take some pictures of the gold roof and enjoy the beautiful sunshine of Lhasa while observing pilgrims praying in front of the temple.
Finally, join locals in a traditional pilgrimage route by taking a relaxing walk in a large circular path around Jokhang Temple at Barkor Street. The street is filled with pilgrims taking part in religious activities and street venders selling a wide variety of traditional Tibetan goods and religious items. If you like you can also ask your tour guide take you to visit a Thangka workshop to marvel at the fabulous Thangka art work. There are cafes along the street as well. You can relax and enjoy the life in Lhasa in a lazy afternoon.
Day 05: Lhasa
After breakfast, you are driven to visit the Norbulingka Park, the former summer palace of Dalai Lama. Explore the beautiful gardens and experience one of the most holy sites in Tibetan Buddhism while soaking up the rich history. Next, come to Drepung Monastery, which was once the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery housing 10,000 monks in its heyday. Learn about the lives of Tibetan monks.
Your tour ends at Sera Monastery, where you will get the chance to experience “Buddhism Scriptures Debating”. These debates are unique to Sera and are quite famous. Enjoy the debates!
Day 06: Lhasa - Gyantse (Altitude 3900 m.)
After breakfast you begin your overland adventure with a full day drive to Gyantse. Along the way you cross the Kamba la (4794m) and the Karo la pass (5010m), both grant spectacular views. After the Kamba la you come to Yamdrok tso, also known as the Turquoise lake.
Day 07: Gyantse - Shigatse (Altitude 3800 m.)
After Breakfast you will start your trip to Shigatse. This will be a busy day. In the morning visit Gyantse stupa and monastery followed by a two hour drive to Shigatse. Here see the giant Buddha in the famous Tashilumpo monastery. The seat of the Panchen Lama.
Day 08: Shigatse - Lhatse or Tingri (Altitude 4350 m. / 4000m.)
The journey today brings you over two high passes with fine views. For lunch we stop in the small town of Lhatse. Depending on how much time we spend during the morning in Shigatse we will stay overnight in Lhatse or Tingri.
Day 09: Tingri-Saga(4450m):
On the first long driving day over the sandy and rocky land of Tibet, other things like lake, nomads chasing thousands of yaks and sheep keep you busy. By the late afternoon you will cross Bhramha Purtra River way to typical Chinese and Tibetan town, Saga for night.
Day 10: Paryang (4600m) 230 km 7-8 hrs
Jeeps and trucks roll on the wide valley following rivers and grazing land of yaks and sheep. Far south you can see snow covered peaks near by you, lots of rocky peaks and sand duns give you an ideal world. Depends on season, nomads and other mobile shopkeepers are attired by beautiful traditional costume, waiting your arrival with hot tea and other supplies along with big smile.
Day 11: Drive Paryang to Manasarover (4558m) 277km 8 hours:
The longest driving day starts with full of excitement, by the late afternoon you can have the first sight of Holy Kailash Parbat and Manasarovara. Hore, a small village near by Lake Manasarover, we will spend a night there..
Day 12: Holy-Manasarovar: At 14950-ft/ 4558m.
The highest lake of fresh water with turquoise complexion in the world is full of fishes and swans. Holy Kailash Parbat, Mt. Gurula-Mandala, Lake Rashekshi are lying on its surrounding. The region is considered rich for gold and other mines, hot springs and hundreds of wild living creatures. Night will be spending at Chu Gumba.
Day 13: Puja and drive to Darchen (14975ft) 40km:
Manasarovara is the lake of compassion, tranquility and bliss. After completing the memorable morning Bath and Puja we will be heading towards Darchen. It is considered as a base camp for the Holy Kailash Parikrama.
Day 14: Trek to Dehara Puk/5000m:
It is one of the exciting days walking along the beautiful rocky cliffs; water falls with some clouds in the clear blue sky make you feeling that Great God Shiva is every where with tons of blessing to you.
Time to time the face of Kailash Parbat will be keep on appearing. For 15 km trail it takes almost 7 hrs.
Day 15: Hardest but Holiest day of your pilgrimage Yatra with Dolma-La (pass) of 18600ft between two valleys:
Yamasthal should be crossed to reach the Shiva-sthal while your steps go closer to the pass. Once you reach the top, just do the holiest offering and sit down for meditation to forget yourself. Once your steps go down, Parvati-stal and Gauri Kunda are on the way. By the late afternoon you will arrive Zuthal Puk (the cave of Miracles. The great ascetic Milerappa is supposed to have performed miracles here).
Day 16: End of Kailash Parikrama and drive to Manasarovara:
After walking 3 hours, all the driving crew will be waiting your arrival. By the late afternoon you will be at your lodge/camp.
Day 17: Drive to Paryang (277km) 7-8 hr.
Day 18: Drive Paryang to Saga (230km) 7-8 hrs
Day 19: Saga- Kerung
Today we will drive from Saga to Kerung through the barren plains of Tingri.As you leave the Tibetan plateaus you will progress towards the Kerung city where you will spend the night at a cozy warm hotel.
Day 20: Back To Kerung - Kathmandu
Today after the morning breakfast you will drive from Kerung to kathmandu.
Day 21 Transfer to airport for your onward flight
